Alif Laila Book Bus Society Featuring Future Chicken

Future Chicken Pakistan is Growing Climate Heroes

March 6, 2026

In Pakistan, children are feeling the effects of climate change firsthand. Many were displaced by flooding in 2025; others live in cities choked by air pollution. These are the children who most need to bridge the “hope gap” and know that they are not helpless.

Future Chicken has partnered with the Alif Laila Book Bus Society in Lahore, Pakistan to bring climate literacy, community action, and solutions-focused creativity to Urdu-speaking children who otherwise wouldn’t encounter the FC Universe. It began with a Future Chicken short being shown on rickshaw mobile libraries around the city of Lahore while teachers translated the English. A year later, Future Chicken sent a custom greeting with Urdu subtitles along with meaningful projects for kids to participate in.

Under the leadership of the Alif Laila facilitators, hundreds of children planted tree seedlings, made murals from recycled materials, hugged and thanked trees for their ecosystem services, brainstormed solutions to local problems, or used storytelling and art to process their experiences of recent floods.

Although severe heat waves and monsoon floods provided challenges, the program has thrived—and so has the partnership.
