About Future Chicken
About Future Chicken
WHAT IS THIS FUTURE CHICKEN?
With fun and discovery always at the forefront, Future Chicken brings environmental awareness out of its silo and into the fabric of everyday life. It is guided by five “discovery learning” themes rooted in K–3 curricula and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals:
- Water
- Food and Food Systems
- Healthy Communities
- Clean Energy
- Cycles and Circles
Future Chicken is not just about protecting the environment – it’s about sparking imaginations and empowering kids to envision and create a future where people and the planet thrive together. So important in this digital age, it also embraces the goal of inspiring kids to find balance—using screens as a tool for discovery while also encouraging them to step outside, connect with nature, and let their imaginations soar as they dream big and act boldly for a sustainable tomorrow.
FUTURE CHICKEN GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The following principles are the foundation of Future Chicken:
Action and Hope
Helping kids share their voices and see their own actions alongside positive real- world ideas of others builds hopefulness about the future of life on Planet Earth. Sharing future forward progress about climate change from scientific and other experts informs realistic action. Being part of a vibrant community supports young people in forging productive relationships.
Playfulness
Having fun, using imagination, and collaborating with others are part of innovation for a better future. Zany ideas often lead to brilliant solutions. Intersections between play and inquiry-based learning foster creativity.
Nature
Honouring the inherent wisdom of the natural world and its ecosystems is empowering. Experiences with the outdoors create a shared love and care for the earth, water, air, and all living things. Understanding water’s governing role in sustaining life and wondrously different values, cultural and spiritual meanings of water deepen this shared love and care.
Connecting
Engaging young people through the mind, heart, spirit, and body, and providing them with ways to draw from their own lived experiences is essential to fostering the next generation of Earth’s caretakers. Complex environmental challenges require whole systems thinking linking the environment with social justice, Indigenous ecological knowledge, the arts, sciences, and health.
Diversity & Inclusion
The power of diversity and representation is a driving force for creating equitable and inclusive communities. All children should have opportunities to see themselves in a positive, active, and hopeful light.
FUTURE CHICKEN IS IMPORTANT NOW!
Kids aged 6 to 10 are full of big questions like “Why is the planet getting hotter?” or “Can a chicken save the world?” Future Chicken makes exploring these ideas fun with creative, future-focused content and a touch of wonder. It encourages curiosity and helps kids imagine new possibilities. The world needs curious kids—and Future Chicken is here to help them spread their wings!
PLANET PROTECTORS ONE AND ALL!
Future Chicken has been brought to life through the partnership between the charitable organization, The ClearWater Futures Foundation (CFF), and the multi-media company, Wind Sun Sky Entertainment (WSS).
CFF is dedicated to creating ripples of change for a sustainable future. Just like a single drop creates ripples across a pond, their initiatives spread hope, foster a sense of well-being, and inspire bold action. In collaboration with Trent University, CFF conducts cutting-edge research to drive impactful change, shaping a future where communities thrive in harmony with nature.
Wind Sun Sky Entertainment operates at the intersection of storytelling and technology, with expertise in multimedia storytelling that spans immersive experiences, the development and production of live-action and animated series, and the creation of dynamic Roblox game worlds and stories. Known for crafting purpose-driven content, WSS brings its creative vision and technological expertise to this groundbreaking project.
With gratitude to our supporters, Future Chicken has been made possible through the generosity and shared vision of those who believe in the power of collaboration to create a better world. By empowering kids to take bold action and inspiring the next generation of changemakers, this project combines science, sustainability, and storytelling to spark awareness and drive meaningful impact.

FRITTATA AND ROCKET PANTS
FUTURE CHICKEN'S BRAINY SIDEKICKS
Future Chicken's ANALYTICAL BEST FRIEND and time twisting sidekick - who happens to be an unhatched egg. Frittata’s logical nature and love of data make him the perfect side dish to Future Chicken's intuitive approach But, he’s not all level-headed facts and figures. Frittata has an unbridled, almost child-like, love of science and learning. Whenever his plan involves discovering anything new about science or putting scientific knowledge into action, he gets positively giddy!
While Frittata’s fragile shell makes him NATURALLY CAUTIOUS, some might even call it a source of eggsistential fear. His loyalty to Future Chicken and curiosity about the natural world gives Frittata the courage to ride along on FC’s wild adventures wearing his technological and shell-saving creation, Rocket Pants.

WORM
THE PRAGMATIC SOIL SOMMELIER
A SOIL-OBSESSED SCIENTIST worm who lives for dirt. Worm is a self-proclaimed soil sommelier who knows how vital dirt is to the health of the entire ecosystem. A wiggling seismograph, Worm can provide valuable strata data to the team while underground, where he’s most confident.
Above ground, Worm is prone to being OVERLY ANXIOUS, largely due to his vulnerability to things like heat, cold, garden hoes, and predators! Despite Future Chicken’s assurances that she has no desire to get him (despite being an early bird), Worm has a lingering instinctual fear that she will gobble him up.

PERSA
THE DETAIL MINDED PERSNICKETY WATER LOVER
Persa is a freshwater electric catfish with a passion for clean energy, cleaner water and sustainable innovation. She is a STICKLER for proper procedures, attire, and etiquette - she’ll charge up your day, but only if you do things her way. She’s also HYDRO-ORGANIZED and very punctual, so sparks will fly when anyone dares show up late to team meetings! But Persa can be softie too, and her ability to generate electricity helps light the way during the team’s darkest days.
Her high-voltage energy isn’t confined to the fish tank. Like other catfish, she can sashay out of water thanks to the set of lungs she has to go along with her gills, and her fabulous automated spritzer hats. Having taste buds all over her body, Persa can “taste” a pizza just by wriggling all over it.

BELLO
THE MISCHIEVOUS WIDE-EYED OPTIMISTIC FUNGI
An ENTHUSIASTICALLY CHATTY mushroom fungus who’s constantly getting a fresh perspective on life (literally - they regenerate every 24 hours), making them both the team’s best networker and its youngest, most forgetful member. This constant regeneration means Bello dies and is reborn daily - they have so many birthday parties! Their innocence makes them take things quite literally, so every day is a fresh new comedy.
As the team’s communications specialist, Bello has a direct line to the Mycelial Network of plants and trees, allowing them to gather information from across ecosystems providing crucial intel to the team. Now, if only they could remember anything for longer than 24 hours!

CIRCUIT-TREE
THE ALL-KNOWING ALL-SEEING ORACLE WITH ATTITUDE
A wise but long-winded ANCIENT TREE and supercomputer time machine, who opens time portals while dispensing ancient ecological wisdom - if you can keep her from branching off into tangential stories. Literally growing out of the Bio Barn, all encompassing root system allows her to open TIME TWISTER PORTALS to the past for Future Chicken. Her roots enable her to control the wood-wide-web, spanning both the planet and time itself. Circuit-Tree has a motherly and nurturing attitude to all the Planet Protectors. Well, except for Rocket Pants, who always seems to be trying to one-up her.
As the oldest member of the Planet Protectors, she is filled with ancient ecological wisdom and Indigenous sustainability practices. Over the years, she has witnessed countless cause-and-effect events and is a great resource for our fresh-faced young heroes.
